Test Valley Bourough Council is proposing a new Public Space Protection order and would welcome your views

What is a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO)?

A PSPO is an order that is enforceable under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.  They are used to protect the public from behaviour that is having or is likely to have a detrimental effect on the quality of life of those in the locality and it is persistent and unreasonable or is likely to be persistent and unreasonable.

There is a current PSPO in respect of alcohol related anti-social behaviour which came into effect on 17 October 2017 and this is valid for 3 years (or until it is replaced). It is proposed to replace this order with a new order.

The proposed new order will replicate the current order but will contain additional provisions regarding anti-social behaviour in relation to an area in Andover Town Centre.

A copy of the new proposed draft PSPO order is provided on the Council’s website at www.testvalley.gov.uk/consultations  Please send any comments no later than Thursday 16 April 2020 to: PSPO@testvalley.gov.uk

You will receive a further e-mail in relation to a second proposed PSPO, this is not a duplication, we are consulting on two separate orders and your views are sought on each.
