On Friday 31 January, from 10pm we will start closing the M27 between junctions 3-4 to demolish the remaining deck of the old Romsey Road Bridge. The M27 will be closed until 5am Monday 3 February. We will also be closing the A3057 the new Romsey Road Bridge throughout this time, this will be closed from 9pm on the Friday.
I am writing to update you and to ensure that you have all the information that you and your organisation may need to assist you. I have also attached a copy of the weekend workers letter, for you to share with your staff, diversion route maps, and the residents’ letter that states the work in detail.
Please note, it is unlikely that we will be opening the M27 and A3057 much earlier than the advertised time. This is due to the amount of carriageway that we’ll need to protect prior to the demolition taking place, along with the multitude of complexities that this demolition has, along with the logistics of returning the demolition material back to site.
We will be operating a dedicated 24hour phone line that will be active throughout the closure 07899751807, I will be on site from 8am – 8pm throughout and my colleague Alex will be here during the night.
Should you have any questions or queries please do not hesitate in contacting me.
Thank you for all of your support throughout this project.
